to the Non Arthroplasty Hip Surgery Register Portal
• Launch of the NAHSR:
o The NAHSR will undergo testing and evaluation during December 2011.
o It is hoped to fully launch the Register early in 2012.
• Formal launch of the NAHSR will be announced through the British
Hip Society, British Orthopaedic Association, NICE and through the media:
o Surgeons will be advised how to Register and enter data onto NAHSR
• NICE guidance on open and arthroscopic femoro-acetabular surgery
for Hip Impingement Syndrome states that surgeons should submit details
of this surgery to the NAHSR (see downloads).
• Surgeons who will be entering data are requested to ensure that
their contact details held by the BHS are up to date. Please contact Claire
Wilson (c.wilson@boa.ac.uk) to check.
• Surgeons who are not members of the BHS will be able to enter
data onto NAHSR.
• Draft Policy Documents, Consent Forms etc. are available for comment
from BHS members from the "Documents for download" page: HERE
