BHS Mentors

A mentor can be defined as “someone who guides and trains someone with less experience”. The qualities in the word cloud were given by BHS members who responded to a 2020 survey on mentorship. In 2021, the BHS are launching a Mentorhip programme, designed to support colleagues at any stage of their career as well as encourage the surgeons of the future. This is in parallel with the work of the Culture and Diversity Working Group to support surgeons from all backgrounds and project values of inclusivity.

All BHS members are welcome to become part of the mentorship network; please read our mentorship letter to find out more.  If you wish to become a mentor then please complete the online form.

BHS Mentors can provide support at any stage of a surgeon’s career from medical student to established consultant. Please use the link below to view mentor profiles.
