    The Plymouth Arthroplasty Fellow will join a department of 24 orthopaedic surgeons with special interests in trauma, revision hip and knee surgery, shoulder and elbow, hand, soft tissue knee, foot and ankle, paediatrics, spinal and Major Trauma Centre trauma surgery. The successful candidates will work closely with the other orthopaedic surgeons and with other professions and departments.

    The duties include adult elective lower limb Arthroplasty surgery with no formal on-call commitments.

    It is particularly suitable for Senior Orthopaedic trainees wishing to gain further experience in arthroplasty surgery, with a view to seeking a Consultant post with this specialist interest.

    We anticipate the Fellow will be post FRCS Orth or equivalent. The Fellow will join a team in a busy arthroplasty unit providing a wide range of lower limb arthroplasty experience.

    The post offers both directly supervised elective operating lists and an independent operating monthly trauma list (with available consultant support) to develop surgical skills.

    The Fellow will be expected to undertake research projects whilst in the department leading to national and international papers and presentations. Research time and clinic support is included in the Fellows timetable.
